Tour Overviewt peak in North Africa (4,167m), making it to the summit is a real achievement! Hike to the summit is challenging, but it requires no mountaineering experience and the panoramic view from the summit makes the hard work worthwhile.
Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from the airport to your hotel in Marrakech.
Day 2: Marrakech – Imlil – Tachdirte.
After breakfast, we leave Marrakech to drive to Imlil where you will meet our muleteers’ team; we begin walking along with pastoral areas towards Tachdirte 2300m. We will spend the night at the camp.
4 hours walk.
Ascent: 200m.
Day 3 : Tachdirt – Azib Likamte. Descent: 600m.
We will trek up to the pass Tizi Likemet (3555m). At the top, we enjoy our first fine view of the Toubkal Massif before a long downhill descent to Azib Likemte (shelter where local people from Amssouzarte valley bring their animals to spend summertime 2200m), where we set up our camp for the night.

Ascent: 1200m.
Day 4: Azib Lkamte – Amssouzarte. Descent : 1000m.
From Tizi ‘n Ououraine (3120m) we enjoy further views of the Toubkal Massif, including the summit, the east face, and the Ifni Dome (3876m). The trail leads on towards Amsouzert (1700m), one of the most striking villages in the region, where we spend the night in a local house.

Ascent: 500m.
Day 5: Amssouzarte – Ifni Lake. Descent: 1300m.
Our way towards Ifni Lake (2300m), this is the only lake in the Massif. It is a memorable sight, surrounded by Rocky Mountains and giant heaps of rubble, and is unusually deep. We will camp near the lake.

Ascent: 500m.
Day 6: Ifni Lake – Refuge. Descent: 0m.
We make our way along a steep path that leads up a seemingly endless scree slope. We reach the pass at Tizi n’Ouanoums (3664m), a narrow ledge between two shafts of rock. From here it is a long zigzag descent to Toubkal Refuge (3200m). We will spend the night in the tents.

Ascent: 1350m.
Day 7: Refuge – Summit – Refuge – Imlil – Marrakech. Descent: 550.
Early morning – we will set off for North Africa’s highest peak. When we reach the top you will see the beautiful views across the surrounding countryside. From here there are stunning views in all directions, the plains north of Marrakech, the High Atlas West-East and the Anti-Atlas, and the Sahara to the south. We will return on the same route. We will come back down the mountain and head back to Marrakech.

Day 8: Departure from Marrakech.
Descent: 2400m.
